Young Hackney: Stoke Newington Valentines’ special

Hackney’s young people are cordially invited to the ‘We Show Love’ event, a special Valentines’ performance night for 14 - 19 year olds, on Thursday 18 February, 6pm - midnight, at the newly restored Stoke Newington Town Hall, N16.

The event is presented by Show Love Lifestyle and local dance group Luminous with support from Hackney Council’s Youth Service. It is one of the many local events organised by young people for young people where they can access a range of entertaining activities across the borough.

The evening has been organised to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, and will include a special presentation offering young people with cancer information and advice about support services in Hackney.

Other highlights include an array of live performances featuring Da Clique; Young Moe ft. Dean Marsh; Luminous; S.O.S. (Sounds of the Streets); Keelee & Sade; Ebonessence; K.I.R.; and Wacky Rymel & Co. Also, a Valentines’ fashion show by Show Love Youngers plus best-dressed male and female competitions.

Councillor Rita Krishna, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “This event is yet another example of the great activities young people are organising for themselves in Hackney. Through record levels of investment in youth services we are supporting young people to develop and reach their potential in many ways, and the Valentines’ performance is a wonderful opportunity to highlight what’s on offer in the borough.”

Young people aged 14 - 19 years are encouraged to come along and share in the fun of the ‘We Show Love’ Valentines’ special. Dress code is smart/casual to be in with a chance of winning a prize on the night.

Admission is by guest list only, tickets cost £3 in advance and money raised will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support. Bookings email: or
