Two days of national strike action for teachers in England
Unless a last minute deal is reached, teachers in England represented by the trade union NEU are set to strike on two consecutive days this week, on Wednesday 15 March and Thursday 16 March. As a result, many schools may be closed or functioning with reduced capacity.
Each school decides individually whether they will be able to stay open or partially open whilst strike action is ongoing. Some schools will close, while others could remain open to particular groups or vulnerable pupils.
Your school will let you know directly if affected. If your school is open, it’s important that you still send your child to attend.
You can find the latest information about school closures, where and when we know them, on our website.
