Residents invited to a free health and fitness day at Hackney Marshes Centre

Hackney residents of all ages are invited to come along and try out new fitness activities and get some healthy lifestyle tips, at a free Health Day on 26 June, 2-7:30pm, at the Hackney Marshes Centre, E9.

The initiative, in partnership with the Barry McGuigan Boxing Academy and London Legacy Development Corporation includes non contact boxing, walking football which a great way for older people to play the game. Tape ball cricket,  popular in Pakistan where they play street cricket. It uses a tapped up tennis ball making it faster and easier to play. There are planned walks around Hackney Marshes as well as help to stop smoking, and a chance to talk the East London Mental Health Team. Over 40s can also get a free health check.

Non contact boxing sessions

Adults: 2:30pm – 4:00pm

Over 55s: 4:15pm – 5:45pm

All ages: 6:00pm – 7:30pm

Walking football; 2:30pm to 3:30pm and 4:00pm to 5:00pm.

Tape ball cricket; 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
