Repair and Reuse event in London Fields

Saturday 11 July
11am – 3pm
London Fields
(Martello Street Entrance)

Three of Hackney’s most popular free events are coming together in London Fields this summer to get people to reuse and repair things.

Hackney Fixers
Slow laptop? Faulty printer? Smartphone misbehaving? Hackney Fixers will help you repair it. Whether you love tinkering, hate shopping, or just can’t bear throwing stuff away, this is the place to come to give your electrical items a new lease of life.

Give or Take
Get rid of your unwanted items and pick up something you do need for free. You don’t have to give to take and you don’t have to take to give. Clothes, books, furniture, toys, records….it’s like a jumble sale where no money changes hands.

Dr Bike
Bring your bicycle along for a free health check. Professional bike mechanics will make sure everything is in good safe working order and carry out basic repairs free of charge.

Councillor Feryal Demirci, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods
It’s often said that we live in a disposable society. Throwing something away and buying a replacement might be easy, but disposing of waste has financial and environmental costs. This event is a fun way for people to see what can be reused and repaired, and how they can help to reduce waste in Hackney.
