Office For Registration of Births & Deaths Officially Opens at Homerton Hospital

Hackney Registration Service members and Hospital staff with the Speaker

The Hackney Registration Service will offer bereaved residents the opportunity to register a death at Homerton University Hospital, in order to provide a more convenient service in the aftermath of a death.

Previously residents would be required to travel to the Hackney Service Centre to register deaths, however this new service means that they can undergo this process without having to leave the hospital.

The service, which launched on May 23rd will offer a death registration service by appointment on the ground floor of the hospital.

The service will initially be offered each Wednesday between 09:00 and 17:00, with appointments available from 09:10 until 15:30, but Hackney Registration Service is committed to expand the number of days the service is offered.

This will enhance the lives of people who will use the service. It will help staff help those who are suffering from a loss, and we are pleased that this service is here.
