The best free things to do during London Climate Action Week 2026
Discover free sustainability events taking place across Hackney this month.
Hackney has a packed programme of events and activities as part of London Climate Action Week, taking place from 20-28 June 2026.
Now in its eighth year, London Climate Action Week is an annual event that brings people together to celebrate climate action happening visibly across the city. From community gatherings and school events to major international conferences, the week aims to build momentum, collaboration and community involvement in climate action.
“London Climate Action Week is a chance to show how small actions can make a big difference. Across Hackney, residents, community groups and local organisations are already leading the way in making the capital a greener place to live and there’s so many ways to get involved.
“This year, local organisations have created one of the largest ever programmes of free events across the borough. So whether you fancy learning new skills at a repair workshop, helping care for local green space or improving your cooking, take a look at what’s happening across the borough and give it a go.”
Cllr Jacob Cable, Cabinet Member for Climate, Clean Air, Energy and Transport
