REVEALED: Hackney Mayor Zoë Garbett’s new Cabinet team
The first members of the new Council cabinet have been confirmed, with more to be announced.
Zoë Garbett, the newly-elected Mayor of Hackney, has appointed the first members of her team to lead a new era for Hackney after the Green Party won overall control of the Council in last week’s local election.
As well as responsibility for the Council’s overall budget, strategy and political leadership, Mayor Garbett will lead on community safety and policing, domestic violence, hate crime, and anti-poverty action.
She will be supported by Cllr Dylan Law as Statutory Deputy Mayor, who will be responsible for council housing management and repairs, private rented housing, and housing affordability.
Also confirmed are the first Cabinet members due to be presented at the Council’s Annual Meeting on 28 May, with further appointments expected in the coming days.
