Penalty charges to increase from 7 April
Parking fines and other penalty charges and fees will go up in Hackney from 7 April 2025, in line with increases across London.
Parking penalties at the higher level will increase by £30 to:
- £160 (Band A) reduced to £80 if paid within the discounted period from the date of issue of the Penalty Charge Notice.
Parking penalties at the lower level will increase by £30 to:
- £110 (Band A) reduced to £55 if paid within the discounted period from the date of issue of the Penalty Charge Notice.
Bus Lanes and Moving Traffic contraventions will also increase by £30 as of the above date to:
- Penalty for contraventions of bus lanes regulations - £160 (£80 if paid within the discounted period)
- Penalty for moving traffic contraventions - £160 (£80 if paid within the discounted period)

Additional parking fees in relation to clamping and removing vehicles found in contravention will increase to:
- Release fee from wheel clamp = £100
- Release fee from car pound = £280
- Daily storage fee = £55 per day
- Disposal fee = £100
The Operator's penalty for contravention of the London Lorry Control Scheme will remain unchanged, at £550 and the Driver's penalty for contravention of the London Lorry Control Scheme will remain unchanged, at £130.
The increases follow a determination by the London Councils Transport and Environment Committee and approval by the Mayor of London.
