
Hackney Year 6 pupils best in the country in 2025
Hackney pupils ranked joined first in provisional KS2 SATs results
Hackney’s Year 6 primary school children have achieved exceptional provisional Key Stage 2 (KS2) SATs results for 2025, ranking joint first in the country.
Newly released statistics from the Department for Education show that 76 percent of Hackney pupils met the expected standard in reading, writing, and maths combined. This outstanding achievement is 13 percentage points above the national average of 62%.
16 percent of Hackney pupils achieved the higher standard, double the national figure of 8 percent.
Individual subject results further highlight the pupils' strong performance:
- Reading: 83% met the expected standard, and 42% met the higher standard (compared to 75% and 33% respectively at national level);
- Writing: 82% met the expected standard, and 26% met the higher standard (compared to 72% and 13% respectively at national level)
- Maths: 82% met the expected standard, and 31% met the higher standard (compared to 74% and 26% respectively at national level).
