Free entry to music events in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

Hundreds of pairs of tickets to major music events in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park this summer are up for grabs for free thanks to a deal between Hackney Council, London Legacy Development Corporation and Live Nation.

To help local people to go to the events, residents are invited to apply for tickets to one of the exciting music events taking part in the north area of the Park that sits in Hackney, which begin at the end of this month.

Events begin with Hard Rock Calling music festival on 29 and 30 June with the chance to see top acts including Kasabian, Paul Weller, Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band, and Alabama Shakes. Next up is The Summer Stampede with Mumford and Sons headlining on 6 July.

Yahoo! Wireless Festival brings Justin Timberlake and Jay Z to the stage from 12 to 14 July, and the Electric Daisy Carnival promises an electronic music extravaganza on 20 July.

Dennis Hone, Chief Executive, London Legacy Development Corporation, said: “This summer we will welcome people in to the Park for a fantastic series of events to celebrate the anniversary of the Games and the start of the phased opening of the Park. We want to make sure local people have an opportunity to go to these amazing events, we have been working in partnership with Live Nation and Hackney Council to enable access to tickets for these concerts and also a limited number of free tickets.”

We're pleased to be able to offer hundreds of our residents the chance to enjoy international music events for free in an area of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park that sits in our borough. We will also be offering free entry to Open East Festival and Sainsbury's Anniversary Games through specific resident and community groups.
