Brand new cultural grant funding open to Hackney communities

Small grants of £5000 are on offer to local community groups and organisations to fund cultural activity that reflects and celebrates the borough's rich diversity and heritage through its communities.

Cultural Hackney is a brand new grant fund from Hackney Council which aims to support art forms and activities across the borough, such as community events, film screenings, talks, walks, exhibitions, club nights or podcasts.

The offer is open to any community group or organisation including those based on race, religion, age, gender or sexuality, or around a particular interest or pastime, such as gardening, sport, tours, literature, film, music, fashion, photography or art.

The deadline for applications is midnight on Sunday 3 March for events and activities to be held between 1 April and 30 November 2024. A second round of applications will be launched in the Autumn.

Apply here before midnight on Sunday 3 March 2024.

We are delighted to offer this new grant to support a broad range of cultural activity that reflects and celebrates the borough's rich diversity and heritage through our communities. We particularly encourage applications from diverse and creative community groups who we don’t currently fund. This could be for activities that celebrate specific cultures and traditions in Hackney, or it could invest in helping you better engage your community. Applications for all kinds of art forms and activities are welcome, such as community events, film screenings, talks, walks, exhibitions, nightlife, podcasts or reminiscence sessions.
