New Covid-19 vaccine clinic at St Leonard's Hospital to help tackle variants of concern
Following the identification of variants of concern in Shoreditch and Dalston, St Leonard’s Hospital has opened a new Covid-19 vaccination clinic to help boost uptake. The clinic is offering vaccinations, open to all over 40’s in Hackney and will help protect local residents from Covid-19.
This new clinic will take place in Block E, St Leonard's Hospital, N1 5LZ every Thursday from 10am- 3pm starting 3rd June and run until the 1st July.
To guarantee your appointment please ring 020 8356 3111, no NHS number is needed and you will only need to give a few straightforward details to book a place. You can also walk in without an appointment at anytime between 10am and 2.30pm and you will be vaccinated subject to availability.
Although over 110,000 people in Hackney have already safely received their 1st vaccination the local NHS and council want to boost local uptake levels especially in the over 40’s - who are often most at risk of the very serious effects of coronavirus such as hospitalisation.
The Covid-19 vaccine has been shown to be highly effective at protecting people from the new variants of Covid-19 that have been found in Shoreditch and Dalston and as the enhanced local testing in this area finishes the focus resumes on protecting people by increasing local levels of vaccinations.
This clinic is for first doses of the vaccine, or second doses if it is more than 8 weeks since the first dose of Astrazeneca. Everyone will need to attend a second appointment to ensure they have full protection from the virus. A staff member at the clinic will be on hand to show people how to book their second dose.
