Mayor’s Question Time: your chance to #GrillPhil

Residents are invited to ask Mayor of Hackney Philip Glanville questions about the issues that matter to them at a free public debate later this month.

The third Hackney Mayor’s Question Time will take place at Hackney Town Hall on Wednesday 18 March, giving anyone the opportunity to quiz the borough’s directly elected Mayor.

The debate will be chaired by Huffington Post news editor and former Hackney Gazette editor Ramzy Alwakeel, who will take questions from the audience and lead the discussion.

Philip Glanville, Mayor of Hackney
With cynicism in politics at an all-time high, it’s vital that leaders in elected office are held to account by the residents they represent, and I’m looking forward to some robust debate next month.

Whether it’s housing, education, our climate crisis or anything else, this is your opportunity to ask me directly about your burning issue and share your views about tackling the challenges we face in our borough.
Philip Glanville, Mayor of Hackney

Previous Mayor’s Question Times, hosted by journalist Dave Hill and lecturer Dr Melissa Butcher, have seen hundreds of residents attend fully booked debates. These can be viewed on the Council’s YouTube channel.

The event, which will also be livestreamed, will take place in the Council Chamber on Wednesday 18 March between 7-9pm. Tickets are free but must be booked in advance as space is limited. Visit the event page to reserve a place.
