Inspiring women wanted to empower young people

Are you a woman who lives or works in Hackney with an unusual job, an inspiring career, or successfully working in a typically male-dominated world?

Then we want you to inspire and empower the next generation of young Hackney women to broaden their horizons and aspirations, smash glass ceilings, and think outside the career box.

Hackney Council is holding its third Inspiring Young Hackney Women event on Tuesday 6 March to coincide with International Women’s Day.

The day will see local women share their stories in a bid to motivate and galvanise young women from Hackney schools, who will then take those narratives back to their peers.

If you’re interested in taking part, please contact the Young Hackney Volunteer Coordinator by Sunday 25 February on email: xanthippi.karkantou@hackney.gov.uk or by phone: 020 8356 3962.

The event will comprise a Q&A with panellists followed by a ‘speed-dating’-style event, which will allow the younger women to talk to speakers and participants in smaller groups, followed by an opportunity to network.
