Housing open day for residents

Hackney residents who are looking for a new start could get all the advice they need at the Housing Options open day.

The event is being organised by Hackney Housing and will be held at the Assembly Rooms in the Town Hall on Mare Street on Wednesday 29 March from 1pm - 7pm.

A variety of local housing providers and independent advisers will be available to hand out free advice on a wide range of housing options.

This includes the Fresh Start scheme which helps people to move out of London, shared ownership or people who are considering moving into smaller properties.

Councillor Jamie Carswell, the cabinet member for Housing said: "Last year was a great success with residents even queuing to get in. We hope that this year s event will prove just as successful and that residents will be able to explore all the different housing options available to them."

"Residents will also be able to find out about educational, employment and training opportunities if they are considering moving and making a real fresh start," Cllr Carswell said.

There will also be stalls representing the Key Workers scheme, Jobcentre Plus as well as mortgage advisors and solicitors.

To top off the day, residents will have a chance to win vouchers to spend in Marks & Spencer or a DVD player.
