Bike-themed pop up market in Haggerston Park 6 July

A bike-themed pop-up market will see everything from craft beer and coffee to pizza and oysters on offer in Haggerston Park from 3.30pm until 9pm.

There will be plenty of activities for children, with an adventure playground, mural painting, games and even the opportunity to see how they can make their own bike out of bamboo. Adults can have a go on a cargo bike and grab dinner at one of several food and drink stalls.

Stalls will include:

The market will cap a celebration of cycling where 1,000 school children will (hopefully) break the world record for the most riders in a ‘bike bus’. To keep with the bicycle theme everything will be brought by cargo bike.

Bike Around the Borough is one of the highlights of our calendar, and this year it will be bigger and better as we look forward to smashing the world record and putting Hackney, London’s top cycling borough, on the global map.

But as well as being a fun day out, the event holds important themes: getting more children cycling as part of their daily lives, and reducing the dominance of the motor vehicle on our roads.
