Hackney women wanted to inspire next generation
Are you a woman who lives or works in Hackney with an unusual job, an inspiring career, or successfully working in a typically male-dominated world?
Then we want you to inspire and empower the next generation of young Hackney women to broaden their horizons and aspirations, smash glass ceilings, and think outside the career box.
Hackney Council is holding its fourth Inspiring Young Hackney Women event on Wednesday 6 March to celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March.
The day will see local women share their stories in a bid to motivate and galvanise young women from Hackney schools, who will then take those narratives back to their peers. If you’re interested in taking part, please contact the Young Hackney Volunteer Coordinator by Sunday 24 February on email: firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone: 020 8356 3962.
Due to a number of issues in society young women often lag behind young men in their career aspirations. That's why we want to bring local women from a range of professions and backgrounds together to talk to the younger generation about the many, exciting possibilities and achievements they can make in the working world. Please do get in touch to share your story and take part in this inspirational event.
The event will comprise a Q&A with panellists followed by a ‘speed-dating’-style event, which will allow the younger women to talk to speakers and participants in smaller groups, followed by an opportunity to network.
