An unauthorised encampment on Hackney Downs was evicted on Friday, 13 August after the Council successfully obtained a High Court injunction to protect our green spaces across the borough. This followed the Council successfully securing a possession order at the Royal Courts of Justice. 

The High Court has extended the interim injunction and power of arrest in relation to the unauthorised encampment on Hackney Downs until 11:59pm on 29 September 2021, pending judgement.
