Fancy launching your career with Hackney Council’s Building Maintenance team?
This crucial service, which provides repairs and maintenance to Hackney residents and properties, is searching for eight apprentices to take up a range of trades including plumbing, carpentry and plastering.
The Building Maintenance team has a well-established apprenticeship programme which will enable you to gain experience, a qualification in your chosen trade and the opportunity to earn while you learn.
The Council is particularly keen to recruit residents from diverse backgrounds and wants to build a workforce that reflects and understands Hackney’s needs, so applications from all communities in the borough are welcomed.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for eight candidates to join our award-winning apprenticeship programme and launch their careers in Hackney.
“Our apprentices here in Hackney bring a fresh energy and perspective to the Council. They are key to developing a talented workforce and, in the process, they advance the skills they need in a fast changing labour market.
“It is crucial that we help guide people who are struggling financially in a challenging labour market into employment roles that can change their lives.
“We particularly welcome applications from women, who are currently under-represented in our Building Maintenance team.”
Roles available are:
- Apprentice plasterer (1)
- Multi-trade apprentice (2)
- Apprentice carpenter (1)
- Apprentice electrician (2)
- Plumbing apprentice (1)
- Apprentice commercial gas engineer (1)
The annual salary for this batch of trades roles ranges from £20,179 to £23,577 and the closing date to apply is 20 June. Candidates can find out more information about each role and how they can apply here.
