Consultation on the City and Hackney Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment 2022

A review of pharmacy services across Hackney

A consultation of community pharmacies in the City and Hackney is currently underway to ensure that they continue to provide suitable services, in the right locations, for local people.

The City and Hackney Health and Wellbeing Board is asking people who use local pharmacies to participate in a consultation that will help to improve and shape their services in the future.

The process, known as a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA), is a statutory requirement that the City and Hackney Health and Wellbeing Board must carry out at least once every three years.

Dr Sandra Husbands, Director of Public Health for Hackney and the City

Pharmacies are an important local service and one that many people rely on for their health care. We want to make sure that local pharmaceutical services are meeting the needs of all our communities. By taking part in this consultation, you can help us to understand your experiences of using local pharmacies and inform important decisions about services in the future. If you live or work in the area, have your say today.

Community pharmacies provide services such as dispensing medicines, offering advice and practical help on coping with ill health, keeping healthy and general wellbeing, and receiving waste medicines for safe disposal.
