Bank Holiday recycling and refuse collection services

In the next month the UK will be celebrating a number of special events over four Bank Holidays, and during this period there will be some changes to household refuse collection days in Hackney.

Changes commence at the start of Easter week, when refuse scheduled to be collected on Monday 18 April will be collected the day before on Sunday 17 April.

A Passover refuse collection will operate on Monday 18 April that will cover areas serviced in pervious years. There is no need to book this service but please remember to place your waste at the edge of your property by 6am.

A normal service will then operate for collections between Tuesday 19 and Good Friday 22 April.

Weekday collections between Easter Monday 25 April and Friday 6 May will be rescheduled to the following day. That means if your waste is normally collected on a Monday, it will be picked up on Tuesday 26 April and 3 May. If your collection day is a Friday, it will be collected on Saturday 30 April and 7 May.

In addition, there will be a full cleansing service out on Good Friday 22 April, and usual working arrangements will be in operation on Saturdays and Sundays.

All recycling collections remain unchanged, and will operate as normal over the Bank Holidays.

Normal services for refuse collections will resume on Monday 9 May.
