Young people across the borough are being urged to showcase their talent by entering the Alter Ego competition, part of Hackney Council's Discover Young Hackney Festival 2015.

Auditions for budding performers aged 13-19 will take place at the Hackney Empire, Saturday 10 January from 10am – 7pm to impress the judges with their singing, dancing, rapping or comedy skills.

Discover Young Hackney is a free festival which promotes participation and training in the arts for young people through a range of taster sessions and workshops run by creative professionals in music, dance, radio, art, literature, photography, design, singing, film and theatre.

To book an audition email alterego@hackneyempire.co.uk or call 020 8985 2424.

Cllr Jonathan McShane, Cabinet Member for Health, Social Care and Culture, Hackney Council
There’s an incredible amount of talent and energy amongst young people in the borough. Alter Ego gives them an opportunity to get on stage and show case their talent. It’s a great way to open Discover Young Hackney. A free festival designed to harness that talent and give young people the practical tools and information they need to get on the right career path, through a very exciting programme of events.
