The Hackney Homes’ Winter Warmer event for residents over 55 returns to the Hackney Town Hall on 3 December 2014.

Providing information, tips and advice on how to stay healthy, warm and active over the winter months, this popular event attracts interest from 100s of residents each year.

Alongside a variety of Hackney Homes and Council service areas, the big energy saving network is just one of the services that will be on hand for attendees, helping them identify the best tariffs for their utility bills. Other providers expected to be present on the day include, the Hackney Circle, helping older residents experience the best of Dalston; NHS and Hackney Public Health service, offering free checks and advice; Citizens Advice Bureau and Hackney Age UK.

Councillor Philip Glanville, Cabinet member for Housing said: “the Winter Warmer is very popular and we are happy to run it once again. This is an excellent forum for providing support and information to some of our most vulnerable residents. It also offers a great social atmosphere, giving attendees the chance to meet new people and join new clubs in their areas “

Following the success of the ‘Community Hub’ at the last Winter Warmer, local groups and clubs are being invited back to hold interactive sessions to promote the work they do.
