Travellers on Mabley Green

A number of caravans and other vehicles moved onto Mabley Green at around 4.45pm on Friday 7 March. The Council has served the group with a letter, warning them they must leave the site.

It is thought that this is the same group who occupied a nearby area in December, which means they are violating a court order obtained by the Council to prevent them from re-entering the land for three months. The Council has served the group with a letter warning them that they are committing a criminal offence which carries a £1,000 fine. We hope that they will leave voluntarily without further action needing to be taken.
