Busy summer ahead for young people in Hackney

Young people in Hackney can look forward to a fun-packed summer of free events, with venues hosting activities handily listed in the new Summer Activities Guide.
The Summer Activities Guide 2018 lists all the places that offer things to do for children and teenagers in Hackney, showing where to play sports, swim for free, produce music, or even get advice on your next steps after you finish school.

With hundreds of activities on offer throughout the summer holidays, there is plenty of opportunity for young people to meet new friends, learn something new and have fun.
Some of the summer highlights include:
- Duke of Edinburgh’s Award taster session, learn to pitch a tent, cook outdoors and orienteer yourself in the wild
- Rising Tide rehearsals with professional musicians and producers
- Tennis summer camp
- Kids Carnival in Dalston Square

Young People are Hackney’s greatest asset, and this summer the Council has teamed up with community and voluntary groups across the borough to offer a wide range of events with lots of exciting activities to get involved with. As well as all the activities on offer, our Young Hackney hubs are also a place for you to spend time and relax during the summer. Staff at the hubs can offer advice on lots of different things from careers to healthy eating, or can just be someone to talk to. So have a look at the guide and use it to make the most of your time off school or college. Here’s wishing you all a happy and enjoyable summer.
