Success for Clean up Clapton Day

The pavement is steam cleaned for Clean up Clapton Day

Students from the BSix College along with Hackney Speaker, Cllr Michael Desmond, took part of this years’ ‘Clean up Clapton Day’, on 3 October.

Centred on BSix College on Kenninghall Road, the day featured information stalls on recycling and ecology. The pavement around the college was steam cleaned and students were asked to volunteer to help to clean Clapton Pond on 6th November.

Students also enjoyed a penalty prize event and pupils from Harrington Hill Primary School took part in a painting competition based on the Clean Up theme.

“The rain just about held off, enabling Clean up Clapton Day to go ahead successfully. At the end of the day the area is much cleaner than it used to be - and we will continue running this event to help it stay that way.”
