Save money with real nappies

Did you know that a baby will use close to 2,000 disposable nappies for every year until potty trained?

And with more than 4,000 babies born every year in the borough, disposable nappies account for around 6% of waste in Hackney. By using reusable real nappies, you could save between £500 and £1,000 per baby and cut your waste contribution significantly. In fact, if you replaced just one disposable with a real nappy every day could save a staggering 730 disposable nappies per baby from going to landfill.

To celebrate Real Nappy Week (23-30 April), we're hosting two events in April with the Hackney Real Nappy Network where new and expecting parents can find out how to save money and help protect the environment by using real nappies. You do not need to book, simply turn up on the day.
