Put a spring in your step, and walk to work or school for a free gift

Hackney residents are encouraged to start their day a healthy way next Wednesday and claim a free coffee or goodie bag in the process.

Anyone in the borough who takes part in Walk to Work or School Day on 14 May will be able to claim a reward, including free coffee, tea or fruit from one of ten shops and cafés in Hackney.

Participating places include Artisserie in Mare Street, Hoxton Hotel and Whole Foods Market in Stoke Newington who are giving away goodie bags containing water, fruit, energy bars, massage oil and more to the first 140 participants. There’s also a treat for feet in store, with a discount on footwear in one shop.

Walking is one of the best ways to get healthy and can easily be incorporated into your daily routine, whether you walk the whole way or get off the bus a few stops early.  It’s also one of the easiest ways to get across Hackney, often quicker than taking the car, and best of all it’s free.

So make Walk to Work or School day the start of a new healthy habit.
