Prepare for the season of overindulgence by signing up to Hackney Council’s free winter fitness classes, available from 10 November.

The Our Spaces group exercise sessions will take place at indoor venues across the borough and are an extension of the Council’s and Our Parks' popular free fitness in parks classes which have been hosted in many of Hackney’s green spaces.

Box fit, dance fit, yoga and hula fit are some of the ten light-to-moderate intensity workouts being offered in seven indoor locations, including community centres and all a short walk from the parks of the summer sessions.

Some outdoor sessions will remain available in parks in this new winter programme including the popular bootcamp and basketball fit sessions.

Most of the activities are for those aged 16+ but there are also children’s classes (Kids Fit) for youngsters aged 8-11. These sessions will provide a range of play and fitness activities for children to raise their heart rate, learn new skills and have fun.

Qualified and experienced leaders will take the classes to help participants get the most from their sessions. To take part, register your details and sign-up for the classes you want to join at www.ourparks.org.uk or call 0800 1114 46.

As we move into the party season, Hackney Council is giving residents the opportunity to keep fit and healthy with our free workouts. With a varied programme of indoor as well as some outdoor activities being held across the borough there’s no excuse not to turn up and tone up!

Alternatively, timetables will be displayed within parks as well as in local libraries, leisure centres and Hackney Service Centre.

The sessions will be held between 10 November and 29 March 2015. However, no sessions will be delivered between 22 December and 4 January.

Please note that the sessions are based on a first registered, first served basis.
