Free Pets in the Park event promises fun for all the family

Come along to Hackney’s first Pets in the Park event where you can meet well-known animal welfare charities and take part in fun family activities, as well as get help and advice on caring for your dog, cat or rabbit.

  • Find out about volunteering and fostering opportunities
  • Sign up to the local cat warden scheme
  • Free vet checks and advice about affordable veterinary treatment
  • Dog training tips
  • Fun agility course for dogs

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s dog show

Dog owners can bring their four-legged friends to take part in a fun dog show judged by local personalities. The emphasis is on fun rather than finding a future Crufts winner.

Pets can bring so much happiness to their owners. Pets in the Park will give information about how to look after pets and celebrate responsible pet ownership. It's also a great day out and free.

Supporting animal charities

Every year thousands of pets are abandoned or mistreated. The charities involved in Pets in the Park work tirelessly to improve the lives of animals and find them loving homes. This could not be done without their volunteers.

At the event, visitors will be able to speak to volunteers, find out what it’s like to work with animals and maybe even sign up to volunteer themselves. The Pets in the Park partners will also be looking for people who could provide a loving home to cats, dogs and other animals whether it is permanently or just for a short while.

This is the first time that these ten charities have worked together on one event. The full list of partners is:
