New kids on the block

Clissold Park’s newest residents, two Anglo Nubian goats, arrived this month and they’ve already made a big impression.

The local lads were born seven months ago at Hackney City Farm and have been named Wallace and Gromit after Clissold Park Keeper John’s favourite animated characters.

Residents are being invited to have a grand day out in the Park to welcome the new additions, who can be seen frolicking in the goat enclosure near Clissold House.

Deputy Mayor, Cllr Feryal Demirci
It’s great to welcome Wallace and Gromit to the Park, and to see that they have already made a big impression, with local children making regular trips down to their enclosure to say hello. They are full of character and can be seen happily playing together, these two brothers are the best of friends. I would suggest residents come down to welcome them to the Park.

Goats have been a feature in the Park since it opened in 1889. They eat shrubs, bushes and grass, but are also fed special goat food with nutrients - so there won’t be any wensleydale and crackers.
