Hoxton Street Market is planning a summertime relaunch on Saturday 24 June

Hoxton Street Market

Packed with East End spirit, and just a short stroll from Shoreditch, the market has recently been transformed and now boasts new-look market stalls.

Established in 1687, Hoxton is the oldest street market in Hackney, and the relaunch will build on the success of the market’s 330 year history and its present day offer. The aim of the event is to highlight the importance of building a strong local community and economy, as well as showcasing the market traders, their products and local retail offer.

Music and entertainment will be provided by a line-up of Hoxton Radio DJs, The Hoxton Trust will be opening its community garden, providing the perfect the location for relaxing and socialising, and Hoxton Hall are offering guided tours of their historic building and mini performances from a variety of artists.

Hoxton Radio’s David Preshaah said:

“Hoxton Radio have been long supporters of Hoxton Street Market and the diverse range of traders, stalls, cool bars and restaurants and local ambiance of the street. We're excited to be broadcasting live from Hoxton Street Market on Saturday 24 June bringing together local voices and faces with an exciting soundtrack of wonders”

Hackney Council is keen to support entrepreneurs and small businesses and it recognises that workspace, in all its different forms, is not readily affordable for many people trying to set up a business. But starting your business in any one of the borough’s markets can often be an affordable alternative to getting your products to customers and building up your business. The borough’s markets are always on the lookout for new ideas and products so do get in touch if you think that your business could thrive and grow in one of our markets.

Keeping the special local character of our street markets is key in attracting residents and visitors alike, and Hoxton Street market is no exception. So a big thank you goes to Hoxton’s local businesses, Hoxton Radio, Hoxton Hall and Hoxton Trust for helping to make sure that the 330 year old Hoxton Street Market is on the map for the next 330 years!
