Food and drink, boxing, haircuts and music are just some of the great things on offer for free for the borough’s 12-25 year olds at Housing Services first ever festival for young people.

Hackney Vibe Festival will be held on Friday, 2 August in St Thomas’s Square, Hackney Central, between midday and 5pm.

The festival aims to build a stronger relationship between young people and Hackney Council in order to give those 25 and under a greater understanding of the range of council services they can access. In particular it aims to find out how the council can improve housing in Hackney for young people and recruit those who want to take a role in shaping the future agenda of housing in the borough.

Cllr Clayeon McKenzie, Cabinet Member for Housing Services
The Hackney Vibe festival is a great way for us to interact with our younger residents. Services within the council, such as Housing and employment opportunities, have a direct impact on 12-25 year-olds in Hackney and therefore it is important that we engage with this demographic and ensure that their voices are heard.
Cllr Clayeon McKenzie, Cabinet Member for Housing Services

Revellers can enjoy boxing classes, cycling club opportunities, haircuts from award-winning barber Slider Cutz, as well as get the chance to speak to professional radio presenters and DJs. Food includes Vietnamese, West Indian and vegan.
