Hackney Homes’ Winter Warmer Event is back

winter Warmer event

Aimed at residents over the age of 55, this popular event returns with a bigger line-up of organisations providing health and wellbeing advice and tips on how to reduce energy costs and energy consumption.

With representatives from Hackney Homes services at hand and linking in with organisations including Hackney Diabetes Centre, Prostate Cancer Care, Volunteer Centre Hackney, the London Fire Brigade and Age UK (East London), the afternoon event on 30 January at Hackney Town Hall Assembly Rooms is sure to have something for everyone.

Visitors will have the chance to take part in a fitness class, find out about digital training opportunities and relax with a health and wellbeing massage from an experienced practioner.

The event, which attracts an estimated 500 residents, provides a friendly place for neighbours to meet and for community relationships to be built.

Cllr Philip Glanville, Cabinet Member for Hackney Homes and Regeneration Estates, Hackney Council
“This event has proved popular with our older residents over the past years and we are pleased to run it again for 2014. Not only does this event provide free energy and wellbeing advice for our residents but it also offers a chance for residents to learn new skills, and speak directly with officers from our anti social behaviour, repairs and tenancy and leasehold teams.”
