Are you interested in learning about how to forge a future career in the construction industry? Then come along to an event, hosted by Hackney Council, which will be jam-packed with industry experts.

The Construction Apprenticeship Recruitment Day will be held in the Assembly Rooms in Hackney Town Hall, on Tuesday, 21 July, from 10am-2pm.

More than 20 leaders from the construction industry, apprenticeship training agencies and the Council’s job brokerage service, Ways into Work, will be on-hand to give advice to Hackney residents, aged 16 and over, who are looking for a future career in construction or engineering.

There will also be opportunities to discuss apprenticeship roles with a host of leading companies and agencies which have positions available, as well as a chance to talk to contractors working in Hackney which are eager to employ Hackney people to work on local projects and large-scale developments, including in council estates undergoing redevelopment.

A number of apprenticeship opportunities are on offer, including:

• Plumbing

• Electrical installation

• Bricklaying

• Carpentry/joinery

• Dry lining and plastering

• Painting and decorating

• Quantity surveying and site management

Cllr Guy Nicholson, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Hackney Council
Hackney’s economy is growing and as it does so, so are the opportunities to find a job. From construction to hospitality and the creative tech sectors, all are bringing with them career and job opportunities to residents.

The construction sector in Hackney is helping to provide many opportunities and the Apprenticeship Recruitment Day is focussed on this sector. Hackney has teamed up with many construction companies working in our borough to host the event.

The day is an opportunity for anyone to call by and meet employers, register with training agencies and talk about a route into future work in the construction or engineering industries. So come along and visit the event to find out more.
