Hackney Carnival Roadshow line-up announced

An exciting programme of events organised by Hackney's carnival groups, schools, youth and community groups will showcase the borough’s talents during carnival season.
From July to September there will be free-to-access workshops, exhibitions and pop-ups in venues across Hackney that connect the borough's communities with Carnival arts and keep Hackney’s carnival traditions alive in preparation for a full carnival parade in 2024.
The Hackney Carnival Roadshow will feature a host of fun carnival activities for families, young people and senior residents, including:
- Costume making and formation flag waving workshops for residents of all ages
- Carnival summer camps for children aged 5 to 18
- Carnival arts, crafts, costume and storytelling workshops at Hackney libraries
- Hackney Carnival Roadshow at Hackney Wick
- African drumming and dance classes
- Plus more pop-ups, exhibitions and workshops on lovehackney.uk/hackney-carnival
Carnival draws thousands of people together to celebrate Hackney’s diversity and heritage and to showcase the borough’s amazing creative talents. This year we look forward to joining together with our schools, communities and carnival groups for an exciting lineup of events to keep our carnival traditions alive while we prepare for a full carnival in 2024.

Like everyone in Hackney I love carnival and as a Council we always look forward to a chance of celebrating together with the whole community. This year’s Hackney Carnival Roadshow will ensure both residents and visitors to the borough can continue to enjoy Hackney’s culture and creativity while we anticipate coming together next autumn for a parade of spectacular costumes, vibrant dance and live music.
