Grants of up to £30k available for community projects

Hackney Town Hall

Applications for Hackney’s A Place for Everyone Main Grant Programme 2017/18 will open this week at midday on 29 June.

Voluntary and community groups can apply for grants of £5,000 - £30,000 for initiatives that will be delivered between April 2017 and March 2018. Initiatives should:

  • promote social inclusion, encourage independence and develop personal resilience
  • build positive relations between different groups and communities that will maintain the high levels of community cohesion in Hackney

In addition, organisations can make a second application for holiday playschemes which deliver high-quality initiatives for children and young people during the school holidays.

Those interested should visits the website for more details of how they might be able to access the funding. The main grant launches on 29 June. Applications for smaller grants are open later in the year.

Guidance and information on how to apply is available at: www.hackney.gov.uk/community-grants.

Cllr Jonathan McShane, Cabinet Member for Health, Social Care and Culture, Hackney Council
The Council is fully supportive of the valuable work delivered by the voluntary and community sector, which helps so many of our residents. This year’s grants programme has so far supported 72 organisations. I'm pleased that despite economic difficulties the launch of the 2017/18 programme will continue to make grants available to support the voluntary and community sector, which helps improve the lives of Hackney’s residents.
