Get ready for the Hackney One Carnival

The countdown is on - the Hackney One Carnival on Sunday 13 September will once again fill the streets with spectacular costumes, energetic dance and uplifting music.Bringing together hundreds of performers from carnival and community groups, the Council-run event will celebrate the melting pot of cultures and creativity that thrive in the borough.

The procession leaves Ridley Road at 2pm working its way south along Dalston Lane, Richmond Road and along Mare Street towards the Town Hall, before heading up Amhurst Road and back to Ridley Road.

Hackney’s best young musicians will be performing in Hackney Town Hall Square, between 12 noon and 3.10pm. There will be children’s play area in Gillett Square from 12 noon to 6pm.

After the procession, there will be a finale in Ridley Road, featuring three sound systems and food until 8pm.

If you live or run a business on the Hackney One Carnival procession route don’t forget to decorate the front of your property.

Hackney Central will be hosting Electric Bloom as a warm up for the Hackney One Carnival on 12 September from 5:30pm. Join bell ringers at St John's then an evening of carnival and bands from 6 - 11pm at St Johns.
