Everyone is invited to Celebrate One Year to Go to London 2012 at Haggerston park on Sunday 24 July.

The park will come to life to mark the momentous milestone that is One Year until Hackney, as one of the host boroughs, will host the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games.

There is a packed programme, with something for everyone. A traditional sports day with egg and spoon races, long jump and time trials. Free sports and fitness workshops or sit back and relax on the grass and listen to live music.

There will also be face painting and bird box and feeder making in the nature area. For children there will be a play zone to keep young ones busy. There will also be a chance to find out more about Hackney Council and its libraries, museum and leisure centres.

The event is part of Hackney Council’s Parks for Life programme of free events in its award-winning parks.
