Find out how we can help you deliver a charity or community project

Are you a charity or community group that wants to know more about how Hackney Council might be able to help fund your activities?

Then come along to a special event on Thursday, 9 July to hear about the Hackney Voluntary and Community Sector Grant Programme for 2016/17.

Attendees will hear talks on the different grants available and learn how to apply when the programme opens for applications later in July.

Two sessions will be held at Stoke Newington Town Hall: one between 2pm and 4.30pm; and the other between 5.30pm and 7pm. There will be light refreshments and a networking opportunity between 4.30pm and 5.30pm.

The earlier session will also see the launch of the newly-refreshed Compact, the document that outlines how the Council and the voluntary and community sector (VCS) work together.

The Council provides grants ranging from £1,000 for small community events up to £60,000 for larger projects.

Some of last year’s beneficiaries used the money to provide art classes for older residents; to hold games which brought together people from different backgrounds and cultures; and support activity for those with mental health problems.

Cllr Jonathan McShane, Cabinet Member for Health, Social Care and Culture, Hackney Council
We are delighted that we can once again provide this important financial help for local voluntary and community groups, supporting them to deliver projects and events which benefit Hackney residents. If you think you qualify and we can help you, come along to our special sessions and learn more.

I would like to thank our voluntary and community sector partners for all of the work that they do to bring people in Hackney together.
Cllr Jonathan McShane, Cabinet Member for Health, Social Care and Culture, Hackney Council
