Families dive in for free swimming lessons
Get a little bit fitter, learn a new skill or simply have some fun in the pool by taking advantage of free swimming lessons and pool time in the borough.
Free family swimming lessons at Kings Hall Leisure Centre, in Lower Clapton, have already made a splash, with 1,900 children and their parents taking up the offer in the first two weeks of the summer holidays.
They were so popular that the Council in partnership with Better now plans to introduce free family swimming session at London Fields Lido between Monday 20 and Friday 31 August.
The free family swimming lessons are for children aged 5 and over, including parents who may not be confident enough in the water to take their children swimming.
All young people under 18 can also swim for free anytime with a pay-and-play card at Clissold, Britannia and Kings Hall leisure centres. Over 60s, disabled users and their carers are also eligible for free swimming in the borough (including at London Fields Lido).
If you’re a parent that lacks confidence in the water, you can take advantage of these family swimming lessons to feel more assured in bringing your children to the pool. For free family swimming sessions at London Fields Lido registration at the pool reception desk is required, with bookings for each session run on a first come, first served basis.
