Don’t miss this year’s Leaseholder and Freeholder virtual open day

Leaseholders and freeholders can learn about the services the Council provides for them at a virtual open day on Saturday 11 December.

Residents can find out about a range of Council services at the event, between 10.30am-1.30pm. 

An overview of the Council’s Housing Services and future plans for estates will be given by the Strategic Director of Housing, Steve Waddington. There will also be updates on how homeowners can find out about energy saving in homes and about the government's leasehold reforms.

Residents will also be able to join a free Yoga session and mindfulness workshop from 1pm.

Events are taking place online between 10.30am-1.30pm. When people sign up they will be sent a Zoom link which they can use to connect to the events. 

Timetable

  • 10.30-11am: virtual event space opens: agenda, films, quiz and information 
  • 11am-12noon: welcome and update on housing services, work of the Scrutiny Service Improvement Group and an IT update
  • 12noon-1pm: update on asset management, live question and answer session and prize draw
  • 1-1.30pm: mindfulness and yoga workshop

Online housing surgeries for leaseholders and freeholders

Homeowners living in Hackney Council properties or on estates can take part in one to one housing surgeries on Friday 17 December.

Residents can speak to an Council officer about queries or issues such as:

  • Anti social behaviour
  • Estate cleaning
  • Debt advice
  • Major works
  • Repairs
  • Service Charges
  • Obtaining independent advice from the Leasehold Advisory Service
