Compost fun day
FAMILIES and residents from across Hackney are invited to attend a fun day in Clissold Park and find out more about reducing waste by composting.
There will be a chance to meet the Compost Doctor, see worms creating compost in a wormery, pick up some free compost and discuss recycling issues with Hackney Council’s recycling team.
Younger visitors can enjoy a bouncy castle, free face painting and a colouring in competition with prizes and giveaways.
The event is being held on Saturday 10 May at Clissold Park from 11am to 3pm to mark International Compost Awareness Week (4-10 May).
Cllr Alan Laing, Hackney Council Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said: “This is a fun way to find out more about reducing waste by composting and do your bit to help make Hackney a cleaner, greener place.”
For more information about composting, call Ander Zabala on: 020 8356 3806 or e-mail: ander.zabala@hackney.gov.uk
