Chatsworth Road Market open every Sunday from 12 June

Chatsworth Road Market will be open every Sunday from 12 June from 11am to 4pm after the success of the trial markets.

Chatsworth Road Traders and Residents Association (CRTRA) are working with Hackney Council to bring the market back to its former glory.
The market, situated between Dunlace Road and Blurton Road in Lower Clapton, already has 30 stalls selling various items with cooked food, vintage clothing and home items, baby clothing and jewellery amongst them. A good percentage of locally-sourced goods and products can be found so residents can buy in-season fruit and vegetables or a unique piece of jewellery while supporting the local economy.

Councillor Feryal Demirci, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods said: “I m delighted that Hackney’s newest market, Chatsworth Road Market, is doing so well. The Council is committed to improving all of Hackney s markets, and they need our support in order for them to continue to thrive. Markets like Chatsworth Road add to the vibrancy of our borough, so why not show your support and visit the Chatsworth Road Market one Sunday.”

Chair of CRTRA, Diane Cunningham, said: “After years of campaigning by local residents and traders, we are delighted that Chatsworth Road will be Hackney’s newest weekly market. The market will continue to grow over the coming months with more stalls added to ensure local people and visitors alike make a visit to Chatsworth Road a regular part of their weekend.”

Hackney Council has also invested over £1 million in improving Ridley Road, one of the borough s best-loved markets. The works include a new footway layout, bigger pitches for traders, new lighting and power bollards and electricity connections and drainage.
