Back due to popular demand - tea dancing on 30 October

BACK due to popular demand, a tea dance is set to take place for Hackney’s over-50s on 30 October.

Older residents are being invited to book tickets for the event, which will take place at the Queensbridge Sports and Community Centre, at 30 Holly Street, between 1pm and 4pm.

The dance follows on from extremely successful similar events held earlier this year in April, and during the summer as part of the Council’s Annual Festival for Older People. Those attending will be able to dance the afternoon away, make new friends, and socialise along with a cup of tea and a slice of cake.

Cllr Nargis Khan, Cabinet Member for Community Services said: “Hackney Council is committed to enabling older residents to lead healthy, active and independent lives. This is one of several such activities the Council organises throughout the year and which participants have told us they enjoy, so I strongly urge older people in the borough to take part.”

The musical entertainment will be provided by Mr Wonderful, and tickets for the tea dance cost £3, available Monday-Friday, 10-3pm, from:
