Your chance to quiz Hackney's Mayor and Chief Executive

Jules Pipe, Mayor of Hackney

A special meeting on 17 July will give residents an opportunity to set the agenda and focus on the topics that matter to you.

Mayor Jules Pipe and Hackney Council's Chief Executive Tim Shields will answer questions set by local residents at a special Question Time event.

The Question Time sessions are organised by the Council's Overview and Scrutiny Board, a cross-party group of councillors who question the Mayor and Cabinet Members on council services and resident issues.

Suggestions are welcomed on any area of public life in Hackney, from housing to parks, community safety to council budgets.

The Board will focus on questions relating to strategy and policy rather than individual cases or planning decisions which are more suited to other forums and meetings of the Council.

To make your suggestion by 12 July, tweet Hackney Living using the hashtag #HackneyQT, email the scrutiny team, call 020 8356 3029 or write to:

This is an opportunity to raise the questions that matter to you about local government in Hackney (please note that national and international politics are not suitable topics for this meeting).

Members of the public are welcome to attend the public meeting on 17 July at Hackney Town Hall from 7pm. If your question or topic is chosen for debate we'll let you know the answer and provide a link to the minutes of the discussion.

To find out more about what topics are discussed at these events read the minutes of the last Mayor's Question Time, held on 20 February this year.
