Postcards from the Park

Is London Fields your favourite local green space? Or perhaps Springfield Park? If there s a local park that you love to visit, why not take some photos of it and enter them in the Postcards from the Park competition?

It is the second year of the competition organised by the Heritage Lottery Fund and Big Lottery Fund in partnership with charity GreenSpace.

It will be launched on 20 June and encourages people to get out and enjoy their parks, while capturing images of what they most love about them. This year special categories include people at play, wildlife and heritage. All winners will have their photos professionally exhibited at a London gallery, and photos will also be made into postcards and distributed at Lottery-funded venues. The closing date for entries is 3 August 2009.

The competition celebrates Lottery investment in parks; The Heritage Lottery Fund and Big Lottery Fund have already invested over £1.2bn in improving public parks and on environmental projects and have supported some of Hackney’s major parks redevelopment projects.
