Nominations open for Hackney Sports Awards 2018

Nominations for Hackney Sports Awards 2018 have opened, with entries sought to highlight the work of inspirational coaches, outstanding sporting achievement and excellence in sports clubs.

The awards, now in their 13th year, recognise the achievements of Hackney’s sporting talent who have participated at local, county or national levels in any sports events over the past year. There are also awards for inclusion, and sports club, team and coach of the year.

People can now nominate individuals and groups for awards in seven categories: Inclusion Award; Coach of the Year; Sports Club of the Year; Team of the Year (18 and under), Sports Person of the Year (16 and under); and Sports Person of the Year (25 and under).

Cllr Jon Burke, Cabinet Member for Energy, Sustainability, & Community Services
The Hackney Sports Awards recognise the hard-won success of the borough's sportspeople, as well as the huge contribution they make to the civic life of our community. If anybody knows of somebody who deserves recognition for their sporting contributions, they should get nominating and help celebrate all the outstanding talent and commitment we have in Hackney.
Cllr Jon Burke, Cabinet Member for Energy, Sustainability, & Community Services

Nominations close on Friday 9 November. Awards will be presented at a ceremony on 5 December.
