Hackney Wick and Kings Park residents urged to attend 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games meeting

Hackney Council is urging residents in Hackney Wick and Kings Park to attend a special community meeting next week to find out how the 2012 Olympic Games will benefit the area.

The Hackney 2012 Community Meeting will take place on Tuesday 16 November at the Wally Foster Community Centre, Homerton Road, London E9 5QB. The meeting will run from 6.00pm - 8.00pm.

At the meeting, information will be available about job and volunteering opportunities as well as important updates on new developments in Hackney Marshes.

Presentations will be made by the Olympic Delivery Authority which is responsible for building the Olympic Park and the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games, whose role it is to run the 2012 Games.

There will also be presentations from The Olympic Park Legacy Company, which will manage the venues and land once the 2012 Games are over and talks from Hackney Council staff involved in the 2012 Games.

Residents will also be able to meet 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Youth Ambassadors and find out how they have been getting involved with the 2012 Games.
