Hackney Archives celebrating De Beauvoir lives

De Beauvoir residents, past and present, are invited to share their records and memories at a free drop-in session on Tuesday 26 August, 3pm-7pm, at Hackney Archives, 43 De Beauvoir Road, N1.

Hackney Archives is working with St. Peter’s Church, De Beauvoir, to collect personal documents and photographs of people who live, or have lived in De Beauvoir Town, which can be added to the Borough’s archives.

They are particularly interested in documents relating to life events, such as christenings and baby ceremonies, marriages and civil partnerships, funerals and grieving ceremonies.

If you think you have any records that may be of interest, please bring them along and talk to staff at the Archives. Even if you don’t want to part with your photos and personal papers, don’t worry, they will scan them instead.

The event will include displays of items from the collections for information about the Borough’s archives. Staff will also be on hand to answer questions and give advice on how to care for precious documents.

So come along to Hackney Archives on 26 August and share your records and memories.
